Prepared Advantage Academy offers security guard and concealed handgun classes. Each class is recognized in the state of Texas and you can work anywhere you would like once you have obtained the security guard certification.

About Don Radcliffe

Don Radcliffe is a former Dallas Police Officer and a former Dallas County Constable. He has been a Texas CHL Instructor since September of 1995 and a Texas Level 3 Security Guard Instructor since June of 2010. Don is also an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer, a TCLEOSE Certified Firearms Instructor and he maintains an Intermediate Peace Officer Certification. He is a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Public Speaking Course. The Range Safety Officer who works for Don is also NRA Certified.

Level 2 and Level 3 Security Guard Classes

Level 3 Classes

This Level 3 Class provides the student with the highest possible certification in Texas for an armed security guard. This also includes the semi-automatic handgun and riot shotgun clearance. This license will allow students to secure employment anywhere throughout the security field.

Level 2 Classes

The Level 2 Class is for the unarmed guards. The class is completed in one day beginning at 9:00 am and ending around 3:00 pm.

Three Steps to Get Your Handgun License

Follow these three simple steps to receive your Texas Concealed Handgun License:

Step 1: Schedule a Class

Give us a call today to schedule your class and learn more about the available openings. You will need to pay for the class at the time of enrollment.

Step 2: State Application

The state application can be filled out and turned in either before or after the class. You will need to visit the state's website where they have the online application for a concealed handgun license. You must fill out the application and pay the fee. In addition, you'll need to bring the page with the barcode on it to your class. You need this paper to send in your paperwork for the CHL 100.

Step 3: Fingerprints

We explain this in class. Do not apply for your fingerprints until after you have completed your application. Come to class first.

We have the only laser range in all of East Texas. We are able to improve the accuracy of your live fire score by up to 30% in just 10 minutes. We are able to train new shooters to qualify for their CHL in just 10 minutes by utilizing this range in our class.
