Prepared Advantage Academy offers security guard and concealed weapons classes. Each class is recognized in the state of Texas and you can work anywhere you would like once you have obtained the security guard license. We now offer Level 2 security guard licenses as well.

Security Guard Training Classes - We study laws, procedures, defensive tactics, and firearms.

We are scheduling a Level 3 Requalification Class on the 2nd Tuesday of each month when practical.

The next requalification class will be scheduled for December 5th from 9:00 am - 2:30 pm.

Our Level 2 Class will be on Wednesday, January 17th from 9:00 am - 2:30 pm.

Our Level 3 Class will follow on January 18th, 19th, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th running from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm each day.

We schedule a Level 2 and 3 Class every other month beginning in January with the Level 2 Class on Wednesday and the Level 3 Class on Thursday and Friday at the end of the week and Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of the following week. The cost for the Level 2 Class is $100.00 and the Level 3 Class is $250.00.

We are now offering the Prepper Spray Certification which will be held on the last day of Level 3 Class after the range training is completed. The cost is $50.00.

Our Level 3 Class provides the student with the highest possible certification in Texas for an armed security guard which includes the semi-automatic handgun and riot shotgun certification. This license will allow students to secure employment anywhere throughout the security field In Texas. Students do not need to bring anything to class or complete any paperwork prior to class.

Important Note:

Permitless carry training for firearms and legal status is on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. Handgun license training is available on the same dates.

Our class schedule is the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month except for November and December. That schedule will vary due to the holidays.

We can schedule private classes at any time.

Step 1: Schedule a Class

You will need to pay for the class at the time of class, cash or check is acceptable.

Step 2: State Application

The state application can be filled out and submitted to DPS either before or after the class. You will need to complete the state's concealed handgun license online application located at www.dps.texas.gov where you will fill out the application and pay the fee. In addition, you need to save a copy of the payment with the barcode on it for your records. We recommend that you wait until after class to fill out the application.

Step 3: Fingerprints

The fingerprints portion will be explained in class. Do not sign up for your fingerprints until you have submitted your application (after coming to class).
